Pius Hume is an accredited Royal schools of music singing teacher. He is a former staff director of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Glyndebourne Opera House and Glyndebourne Touring Opera. He was until recently Vocal consultant to the Royal Opera School of Oman and is a former lecturer and teacher at Morley College London, Rotherham College of Arts and Technology and the Sheffield Music Academy.
He has been teaching at every level privately and for educational establishments for almost 25 years. He teaches both adults and children, individually and in groups, at every level of ability from beginners, through to professional performers.
Pius is a specialist in vocal technique, children's voices and adult beginners.
Pius welcomes every type of singer. His pupils have reached the finals of xfactor and the eurovision song contest. They have appeared on TV in shows such as top of the pops, and regularly work in pubs, clubs and cruise ships. They are recording artists, actors and public speakers.
Non professional singers range from operatic soloists to those who cannot sing in tune, and whose singing has been disowned by family, friends and domestic pets.
Pius values every voice and each lesson is a search for the authentic voice of that person.
